Meet Jay Starkey
I’m Jay Starkey, a full-spectrum conservative running for State Senate in Indiana’s 6th District. As your State Senator, I will fight to protect life from conception to natural death, defend traditional family values rooted in faith and freedom, and lower taxes to empower working families.
I will stand for secure borders, support schools of excellence, restore parental rights in education, and uphold the constitutional freedoms granted by our Creator. My commitment is simple: principled leadership, limited government, and policies that strengthen families and protect liberty.
Faith and Freedom
As a Christian, my faith shapes every part of my life. I strive to live by Micah 6:8: “What does the Lord require of you? To act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.” Whether with my family, serving my community, or in my daily work, I seek to do the next right thing—guided by truth, grounded in humility, and committed to justice.
Family
My family is and will always be my priority — my lovely wife of 32 years, my daughters, caring for my parents — these are the most important things in life and will inform my decisions as a legislator. I know strong families build strong communities.
Country
Freedom is never free. Our rights come from our Creator—not from government—and it is our duty to defend them for the next generation. Government exists to protect life and preserve liberty, not to expand its own power. We cannot grow state and federal bureaucracy while claiming to maximize freedom. If we want liberty to thrive in Indiana and across our nation, government must be limited, accountable, and rooted in constitutional principles.
Republican
I am a Republican because I believe strong families, individual responsibility, and constitutional government are the foundation of a free society. The Republican Party stands for faith, personal liberty, secure borders, fiscal discipline, and the rule of law. I believe the government works best when it is closest to the people, accountable to taxpayers, and restrained by the Constitution. That is why I am proud to stand as a Republican.

• Fiscal Responsibility: Cut waste, control spending, and demand accountability for every tax dollar.
• Free-Market Capitalism: Champion small businesses, reduce regulation, and reject government overreach.

• Taxpayers First: Put working families ahead of corporate favoritism and government handouts.
Protection of Women and Children
Women’s sports and private spaces must be protected to ensure safety, dignity, and fairness.
Parents — not government or activists — have the primary authority over their children’s education and upbringing. Indiana should stand firmly on policies that defend women and strengthen families.
Building a Conservative Culture
Indiana must restore a culture grounded in truth, merit, and personal responsibility.
I oppose ideological mandates that elevate politics over performance. Opportunity should be earned — based on character, work ethic, and results — not identity or government preference.
